Physical
The element is hard and brittle at high temperatures and has low flexural strength. When the component is above 1350°C, it will become plastically soft, so the component can be bent into the desired shape at high temperatures.

Chemical properties
The element is heated to a high temperature under an oxidizing atmosphere, forming a dense protective layer of silica on the surface, protecting it from further oxidation. The component should not be used for a long time in the range of 400-700 °C, because under this condition, the component will be oxidized at low temperature, resulting in the destruction of the component.

Resistance characteristics
The resistance of molybdenum disilicide electric heating element increases rapidly with the increase of temperature, and the resistance is a constant when the temperature does not change. Under normal circumstances, component resistance generally does not change with the length of time, so new and old components can be mixed.
Surface load
According to the structure of the furnace, the atmosphere in the furnace and the furnace temperature, the correct selection of the surface load of the component is the key to achieve the longest life, the following figure shows the relationship between the furnace temperature, element temperature and surface load of the electric heating element radiation without hindrance, and the shaded part is the commonly used surface load range.
Installation of components
The components are brittle at room temperature and malleable at high temperatures, so the products are generally made of U-shaped vertical suspension installation. If required, it can be fully matched with heating modules, and other installation methods can also be used. When installing, the round part of the element must extend into the furnace, the cold end fixture can not be tightened too tightly at one time, and tighten again when the component rises to high temperature, because the component has a certain plasticity and is not easy to break. In order to prevent the vertical element from contacting the furnace bottom, the distance between the element and the furnace bottom should not be less than 25mm.
The insulation performance of the electric furnace roof must be good, and the general furnace roof temperature should not exceed 300 °C. In order to prevent the chuck from overheating, the contact voltage between the chuck wire and the component should be less than 0.1V, and the distance between the lower end of the chuck and the top of the plug brick should not be less than 50mm. In order to avoid chuck damage, generally Φ6/12mm components can not use 170A for a long time, and Φ9/18 can not use 300A for a long time.

2. The use of components must have a voltage regulating device, it is best to use stepless voltage regulation, and a fixed voltage cannot be used.
3. The installation of components should not be too tight, and it is necessary to ensure free expansion and expansion under high temperature conditions, otherwise it is easy to damage the components.
4. When selecting components, the influence of the atmosphere in the furnace on the use temperature should be considered.
5. In order to improve the service life of components, a reasonable surface load should be selected.
6. Continuous use of components will get a longer service life.
7. Vertical components should avoid contact with the inner wall of the furnace.
8. Sulfides, metals and tang porcelain cannot contact with components at high temperatures.
Use of components
Large electric oven time is long, should avoid the use of molybdenum disilicide electric heating element oven, to avoid low temperature oxidation damage of the component, the use of molybdenum disilicide electric heating element in order to avoid excessive current impact to overload electrical equipment, should be used the following methods to power supply.

When changing gears, it should not be too long, and the temperature of the general components should not drop by 300-400 °C, otherwise it is easy to cause current impact and damage electrical equipment.
